VisionCor Donates Computers to "Computers for Troops" Program
VisionCor recently participated in the "Computers for Troops" program sponsored by the Fort Mill Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). Under the leadership of former Post Commander John Marker, the project provided computers for the South Carolina National Guard's 178th Engineering Battalion Family Readiness Groups (FRG).
The troops had been deployed to the Middle East, and some of their families did not have computers or Internet access to communicate with their loved ones overseas. The Fort Mill VFW stepped in to locate, repair, configure, and test computers. The VFW volunteers spent hundreds of hours refurbishing and distributing computers.
VisionCor donated nearly half of the computers delivered for family use. VisionCor also contributed an apron with greetings from many VisionCor employees who signed it during a recent First Friday event. The signed aprons were delivered to the troops.
