VisionCor CEO Completes Tenure as Community Service Board President
VisionCor CEO Sherry Barretta completed her two-year term as President of Women Executives for Community Service, Inc. (WECS). She will continue to serve on the board as past president of WECS, providing leadership to the WECS organization.
WECS, an organization formed by Women Executives (WE), funds and administers a scholarship program called Women Initiating and Nurturing Growth through Scholarships (WINGS). Designed to help women who have faced obstacles in achieving their education and personal goals, the WINGS scholarship provides financial support to help women succeed.
The WINGS scholarship applicant must meet certain eligibility criteria, such as age, financial support, and career goals. The scholarship applicant must continue studies at four local colleges and universities.
Under Barretta's leadership, WECS finalized the mission and guiding values of WINGS, stipulated new scholarship requirements, refined the mentoring process, increased the amounts of scholarship funding, updated the Policies and Procedures Manual, and implemented new processes for measuring the effectiveness of the program.
